Effective 5 August 2026
These terms are written for the current TownTickets platform. Event-specific terms and mandatory consumer rights may also apply.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use apply when you browse TownTickets, create an account, buy or receive a ticket, join a waitlist, order an event product, create or manage an event, submit organiser verification, or use another TownTickets feature.
By using the platform, you agree to these terms and any event-specific rules clearly presented before purchase or attendance. If you act for a business, school, organisation, or other entity, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that entity.
2. Accounts and access
You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in method secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Google sign-in is an optional account-access method. TownTickets does not ask for your Google password. Existing email and password access may remain available where configured.
TownTickets may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate fraud, comply with law, enforce these terms, or preserve platform security.
3. The role of TownTickets and organisers
TownTickets provides technology for event discovery, ticketing, event stores, account access, check-in, organiser administration, and related support. The event organiser remains responsible for the event itself, including its content, venue, permissions, safety arrangements, accessibility information, schedule, performer or speaker commitments, and event-specific customer obligations.
TownTickets may review organiser information and supporting documents, but verification is not a guarantee that an event will occur or that every organiser statement is accurate. Users should consider the event information provided before purchasing.
4. Tickets and orders
A ticket or order is confirmed only after TownTickets receives the required successful payment confirmation or another authorised confirmation method. Pending, failed, reversed, duplicated, or fraudulent payments do not create a valid entitlement.
Tickets may include a unique reference, QR code, attendee details, ticket type, event details, and status. You must not alter, copy for resale without permission, duplicate, forge, or misuse a ticket or reference.
Entry remains subject to the event rules, ticket status, venue capacity, safety requirements, lawful instructions, and successful validation. A ticket marked used, refunded, cancelled, transferred, or invalid may not be accepted for entry.
5. Prices, fees, and payments
Prices are displayed in South African rand unless stated otherwise. The checkout page should show the amount payable before you confirm payment. Payment providers may apply their own terms and security checks.
TownTickets may charge organisers platform, processing, payout, refund, or other agreed fees. The applicable commercial arrangement is shown in the organiser workflow or a separate agreement. TownTickets' standard platform commission is currently six per cent unless a different written arrangement applies.
6. Cancellations, changes, and refunds
An organiser may postpone, relocate, reschedule, materially change, or cancel an event. The available remedy will depend on the circumstances, the organiser's published policy, payment-provider rules, applicable consumer law, and any mandatory legal rights.
A refund is not complete until it has been processed and confirmed through the relevant payment route. Processing times may depend on the payment provider or financial institution. TownTickets may retain records necessary to reconcile the refund and prevent duplicate claims.
Where an event is postponed rather than cancelled, an existing ticket may remain valid for the replacement date unless the organiser or applicable law provides another remedy.
7. Event products, delivery, and collection
Event-store products are supplied under the information shown by the relevant organiser or seller. Availability may be limited. Delivery or collection timing, condition, sizing, variations, and returns may depend on the product and event-specific policy.
You must provide accurate delivery or collection information. TownTickets and the organiser are not responsible for delay or failed delivery caused by incorrect details, restricted access, or circumstances outside reasonable control, subject to applicable law.
8. Organiser responsibilities
Organisers must provide truthful event, pricing, venue, contact, banking, tax, legal, safety, and refund information; obtain required permissions; honour valid customer obligations; protect attendee information; and comply with applicable law.
Organisers may not publish unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, infringing, fraudulent, unsafe, or non-existent events. TownTickets may withhold publication, pause sales, hold or delay payouts, request further information, refund customers, or remove content where reasonably necessary for safety, verification, disputes, legal compliance, or platform integrity.
9. Acceptable use
You may not attempt to bypass security, probe private systems, scrape protected information, interfere with payments or inventory, impersonate another person, upload malicious code, abuse refunds, manipulate ticket status, harvest personal information, or use TownTickets for unlawful activity.
Automated access is allowed only where TownTickets has expressly provided an interface or written permission. Public search-engine crawling remains subject to the published robots rules and applicable law.
10. Content and intellectual property
TownTickets and its licensors retain rights in the platform software, design, branding, and original platform content. Organisers retain responsibility for event content they submit and grant TownTickets permission to host, display, format, distribute, and promote that content for operating and marketing the event and platform.
You must have the necessary rights to any text, image, logo, video, music, document, or other material you upload. TownTickets may remove material that is alleged or reasonably believed to infringe rights or law.
11. Availability and responsibility
TownTickets aims to provide a reliable service but does not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, connectivity, third-party providers, payment networks, venues, emergencies, security events, and circumstances beyond reasonable control may affect the service.
To the extent permitted by law, TownTickets is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from an organiser's event, user misconduct, unauthorised ticket resale, third-party services, or circumstances outside TownTickets' reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
12. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in the TownTickets Privacy Notice and any additional notice shown when information is collected. Organisers who receive attendee information must use it only for lawful event-related purposes and protect it appropriately.
13. Changes and termination
TownTickets may update these terms to reflect platform, provider, legal, or operational changes. Material changes will apply from the stated effective date and will not remove rights already provided by mandatory law.
You may stop using TownTickets at any time. Account closure does not automatically cancel completed orders, remove lawful records, settle outstanding organiser obligations, or end provisions that reasonably need to survive termination.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Courts or dispute-resolution bodies with lawful jurisdiction may hear a dispute. Users should first contact TownTickets so that an issue can be investigated and, where possible, resolved promptly.
Questions about these terms can be sent to info@towntickets.co.za. Do not send passwords, full payment credentials, or unnecessary identity documents by ordinary email.
